I love caramel in every possible way - caramel macchiato, caramel ice cream, caramel cookies, caramel macarons or just a plain piece of caramel with a pinch of fleur de sel. So when I found this recipe for microwave caramel I just HAD to try it. Especially since it only has 5 ingredients and is supposed to take about 6 minutes.

So here we go, this is the original recipe:

1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup light Karo syrup
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

1) Combine all ingredients.
2) Cook 6 minutes, stirring every two minutes.
3) Stir and pour into lightly greased dish.
4) Let cool.
5) Cut, wrap in wax paper & store in air tight container.

Doesn't sound too difficult. I started out by putting everything in a glass bowl. Instead of the Karo syrup I used caramel syrup, duh :-) It's much easier to come by here.

What I'm watchingCollapse )

... a post! I know, I can barely believe it myself. I don't even know exactly how I ended up here today, but I had a lot of free time on my hands and started to clean up my account - removed tons of communities from my watchlist, that are no longer active or that I am no longer interested in, removed a lot of friends that have moved on from LiveJournal and deleted quite a few of my own communities that have been dead for a long time. I still have a handful of those left where for some sentimental reason I'm not ready to let go yet LOL

So, who of you is actually still active here? I know that many have moved on to other websites, but personally I have never found an alternative that felt quite right. Facebook is just not for journaling and although I'm "there" I barely ever log in. Twitter isn't the right place for long ramblings :) and I never quite figured out Tumblr. There's always my own website, but it's not the same as a network like this. So ...

I'd have to lie if I said that my interests haven't changed over the past year. Instead of creating icons and redesigning websites I am baking cookies and cupcakes, pimping my apartment and sewing bags and clothes. What has stayed the same though is my obsession with TV shows and movies. And while I don't have the money anymore to go to the movie theater regularly I am still watching my shows. More on that later!

So that's the plan here? Since I am testing new recipes all the time, sewing new stuff and taking pictures of everything anyway, I might as well start posting everything again. I have installed a small plugin over at my blog that will hopefully allow me to cross-post my posts over there. Let's see how that works :)
